Trail Overview

Forest Service Road 9246J is just over 3 miles long. The South portion of the trail has a brief easy-going dirt surface that begins to get rocky quickly. As you continue North, the trail will continue to get rockier. You will traverse over a dry wash and have a short and rocky hill climb. This area has several large rocks that are right in the middle of the trail. You must crawl over these large rocks that are in the middle of a hill climb. The trail will level out a little bit but start to get more rocky as you approach a second dry wash crossing. As you traverse down into this small canyon, the trail crosses a dry creek bed close to the Anniversary Tank. Right after crossing this dry creek, the trail has another short and steep hill climb. This hill consists of loose rocks all the way up out of the small canyon. As you travel northeast, the trail's surface is a relentless rocky surface with large rock gardens to navigate over. There are lots of rocks that show evidence of undercarriages hitting them in this area. Make sure you go slow and choose good lines to avoid damage to your rig. There will be two fence gates with a juniper tree separating them. Open the fence gate to the left of the juniper tree. This gate takes you the right way to the end of the trail. After this gate, the trail's rocky surface doesn't let up until the ending point at the junction with Forest Road 214C.
