Trail Overview
The Apache Spring Trail is a rugged and beautifully scenic route that leads to a deserted cabin at the end, where a small campsite offers a stand-up BBQ, natural wind protection, and a small spring nearby. The abandoned cabin, with its eerie, weathered appearance, has a wall covered in business cards left by past visitors, adding to its mysterious charm. The road up to the site is steep and rocky, requiring four-wheel drive to navigate the challenging terrain. As the trail winds up the mountain ridge, it remains rocky with sharp inclines, offering breathtaking, uninterrupted views that stretch for miles. At its highest point, the trail reaches an elevation of 1,470 meters, providing a striking vantage point over the surrounding landscape. The area holds historical significance, with remnants of an old barn and diverse plant life that tell the story of the region's past. The trail offers a few dispersed campsites but lacks amenities such as trash disposal and water supply, and there is limited cell service.
