Trail Overview
Forest Service Road 6399 offers a scenic drive through a beautiful forest landscape, surrounded by towering pine trees and lush ground ferns. The trail is primarily composed of dirt, with a few road ledges that may require careful navigation. Along the way, you'll encounter several fallen pine trees. Some have been cut and cleared to allow passage, while others feature bypass routes to help you stay on course. When heading west on Forest Service Road 9013S, the trail eventually ends behind the UFS Furnow Fire Lookout Cabin property. Numerous camp sites with visible fire rings are available along the trail, offering plenty of opportunities for overnight stays. As always, practice Leave No Trace principles and be mindful of potential hazards such as fallen or unstable trees. Great trail to run in any vehicle. Keep your eyes open for the wildlife that runs along the trail.
