Trail Overview
This trail begins as a wide, open dirt road heading toward Roosevelt Lake, with several excellent camp spots along the way that can easily accommodate larger groups of 6 to 8 rigs. The road stays relatively wide and easy for most of the route, though a few washouts create mild off-camber sections. As you descend toward the lakebed, the trail becomes steeper, rockier, and noticeably narrower. The final stretch drops down a steep, loose rock garden that requires careful line choice and controlled descent. The road ends at a grassy clearing with a fire ring surrounded by dead trees, and access to the Salt River is just a short 100-yard walk from camp. Most of the trail feels like a 2/10, but the last quarter-mile descent increases the overall difficulty to a 3/10 due to the steep, loose, and rocky terrain.

Difficulty
This trail is rated 3/10 due to the steep, loose rock descent in the final section, which requires careful braking and line choice. While most of the route is easy and wide, drivers should be comfortable navigating a sustained rocky downhill to reach the campsite near the river.
