Trail Overview
Forest Road 153E stretches just over two miles long and starts off of Schnebly Hill Road. As you start the trail, you will see two dispersed camping spots on your left. The trail travels to the Northwest and becomes more rocky the farther you go. The views on this trail are of Ponderosas, which give way to rolling meadows. Parts of this trail are prone to water erosion, judging by the ruts and dusty swirled surface on parts of the trail. Also, areas on this trail can have mud holes after a good rain. You will see a corral on your right as you near the end of this trail. After the corral, the trail becomes much more rocky and bumpy, with large rock gardens peppering the surface. The trail ends at a washout that carries on downhill. Ultimately, it is a great place to get out and admire the view of Oak Creek Canyon, two canyons away. This trail narrows after the corral. Paint damage is inevitable for larger 4x4 rigs.
