Trail Overview
This 3+ mile trail (6.5 miles out and back) climbs 350 feet, starting in a big sandy and gravel wash that's lined with lots of desert brush and bushes. The wash can be wide at times, giving you room to navigate through the terrain. The trail runs along some mud walls, so be cautious during storms as flash floods can be a concern. The route cuts across the Pole Line Trail and continues eastward, where the character of the wash changes. As you continue east, the wash becomes more rock and gravel than sand, creating a firmer but bumpier surface. The trail ends at the Yuma Proving Grounds boundary, where further progress is restricted.

Difficulty
The sandy wash sections require Four Wheel Drive and good momentum management, with airing down recommended. As the surface transitions to more rock and gravel, navigation becomes bumpier, but traction improves. The mud walls and wash environment mean you need to be aware of weather conditions and flash flood potential. The varying surface from sand to rock and gravel keeps you adjusting your driving approach throughout.
