Trail Overview
This is a short but fun and scenic side trail. On some mapping programs, it may be called Sidewinder Road. It can be accessed from two directions, but the best way is to head west from BLM1041 and exit out onto CR 242/Lime Kiln. When entering the trail, it starts off as a small wash that has some brush overhanging. You may not even think it's a trail, and it will rub on the side of your vehicle if you worry about that. The wash has quite a few twists and turns, and you will find yourself wanting to drive it whenever you are in the area. After the wash area, you come to a place where there are some massive red rock formations. You will find a lot of them are rounded or flat on top, not slippery to climb up with decent shoes. Once you hike up, you will enjoy a beautiful panoramic view. One place has a small dead-end canyon, that is a favorite spot to take a break or even stay overnight.
