Trail Overview
The trail begins as a relatively well-maintained route but gradually deteriorates as it approaches Brown Canyon Ranch, where access becomes more restricted. To continue onto the private access road, visitors must sign the guest book near the entrance gate and carry a valid Arizona State Trust Pass, which costs $20. At the trail's end, a parking area provides a stopping point, with locked gates at both ends of a fork in the road, marking the limits of public vehicular access. The vehicle trail lacks amenities such as trash disposal, water supply, and limited cell service. There was, however, a full bottle of water in the box containing the visitor's book. A 4 mile hike around the Brown Canyon can be started at this point.
