Trail Overview

Trail 28063 branches off 28001 and follows a scenic ridge line on a narrow gravel road. This trail is non-technical with no major obstacles, making it more about the views than the challenge. As you cruise along, you'll be surrounded by classic desert landscape--towering saguaro cactus, cholla, and creosote lining the trail. In the distance, you'll get incredible views of the lake and the surrounding mountain ranges. The terrain is mostly bumpy gravel and dirt, enough to keep things interesting but nothing requiring advanced driving skills. The trail ends abruptly at a cliff edge--and you won't see it coming until you're right on top of it. This area at the end of the trail is managed by the Bureau of Reclamation, and there is no trespassing beyond this point. There's a small space to turn around, but use extreme caution near the edge
