Trail Overview

This short offshoot from Cave Creek Road (FS 24) offers a quick but rewarding adventure with expansive high desert views and a stop at a cattle water hole. After passing through the first gate, the route opens up to its most scenic stretch, with wide-open vistas that continue until the second gate. Beyond that point, the trail becomes rougher but remains brief, leading to Blackjack Tank--a small livestock watering area tucked into the landscape.
