Trail Overview
The Bellemont-Moritz Road is a beautiful wide gravel trail that traverses a large section of the Kaibab National Forest. With tons of primitive campsites toward the south end of the trail, this trail is well-traveled and features no obstacles along it other than traffic or cows. The road itself is wide and smooth with some sections of washboard. It is comprised of gravel, with ditches along each side to help with water runoff during the monsoon season. This trail accesses numerous other parts of the forest and thus has several other trails that intersect with it. Along with the camping, there is a lava cave nearby that is well marked, as well as cattle, elk, deer, and private ranches the further north you go. There is also access to the Kendrick Mountain trailhead which is a hiking trail.
