Trail Overview
The 50k Trail is a remnant of a mining road, of which there are plenty in the area. This road is rutted, with deep cuts of water damage, erosion, and washouts. There are wash crossings along this road with steep entrances and exits. It's rocky and bumpy, with sporadic rock gardens throughout. The trail narrows at several points, and paint damage to your vehicle (anything bigger than a motorcycle, really) is guaranteed. This road has one section that is passable, though when it was mapped, the erosion was so deep that I thought I was going to flop my Toyota Tacoma on its side. Caution is urged. The views along this road are pretty, with rare remote views of the surrounding mountains. There are remnants of mines in the area, with foundations, buildings, mine shafts, and other debris fields that are present. Caution is imperative around these features, as there is no cell service in the area and rescue is not possible for quite some time. Offline maps are recommended as there are offshoot trails that sometimes lead to dead ends with no room to turn around. On the west end, the road does not connect to the pavement, so you'll have to take a connector or find a way out if you're not looking to run it in reverse. This trail was mapped from east to west.

Difficulty
This is an unmaintained old mining road. This trail has one particular feature that will put your vehicle at an extreme off-camber. There are sections of water damage and erosion that could become more challenging as time and usage occur and after a major monsoon event. Caution is urged.
