Trail Overview
This is an advanced and rugged single track with exposure, gnarly climbs, technical rock ledges, and awesome scenery. The south end starts with a wide, rocky, loose climb up a steep hillside with some embedded rock at the top as it gets onto a ridgeline. The ridgeline is pretty cool and scenic, being way high up on the hills. It gets steeper as it crests each hilltop along the ridge. It continues as a narrow singletrack through the hills, mostly ascending, with embedded rocks, loose rocks, steep side-hilling exposed descents, and off-camber rock ledges in the narrow trail. There are some really narrow spots of side-hilling tightly between rocks and cacti that you have to be cautious about. It has sharp switchbacks and 1 to 2-foot tall rock ledges. It's a really fun challenge and also gets you really great views at the top of the jagged rock outcroppings on the spines of the hills. It dead ends in the hills, so it will have to be ridden as an out and back, but it is a great challenge for advanced riders. Since this trail is on Arizona State Trust Land, it requires a recreation permit that you can obtain online.
