Trail Overview

The trail starts right off Castle Hot Springs Road, with a convenient area to air down and prep before hitting the trail. You'll immediately descend into the wash and begin your journey on Trail 47019. The trail winds in and out of the powerline right of way, with rocky sections that take you through the Bradshaw Mountains. Each turn offers views of large saguaro cacti and a variety of desert vegetation. Washes can become challenging after rainfall, so be prepared for potentially tricky conditions. The trail ends at a nice campsite, just before it drops into the Hellgate Wilderness Trail. Note that this trail can get busy on weekends, so use caution when traveling, especially around other vehicles.
