Trail 28002 begins off Cow Creek Road and takes you along the scenic ridgelines of rolling desert hills within BLM-managed land. This extra-wide trail is designed to accommodate the large rock slabs and steep inclines and declines that define the route--providing a challenging yet rewarding experience. As you navigate the ridge, each hilltop rewards you with expansive views of Lake Pleasant, making the climb worthwhile. The trail ends at the Bureau of Reclamation property line. Along the way, you'll encounter impressive stands of large saguaro cacti, as well as a rich variety of desert flora that enhances the beauty and solitude of this rugged desert trail. The trail is suitable for most vehicles with ground clearance to navigate the rock ledges.
