Trail Overview

This is a steep, narrow, winding one-lane rock with a grass centerline trail that is lined with trees, tall grass, shrubs, and ferns. There are a couple of areas where you can pull over to let approaching vehicles pass. This trail has Scenic views overlooking the hills and valleys. You can also see sections of Shelter Cove. This trail is rated ATV / Motorcycle. Hidden danger one mile in. A landslide has taken half the road away. You can still walk around it and it is wide enough for a motorcycle, but caution is recommended as this section looks like it has had multiple slides as the trail has been marked on the gate in pen 6/1/25 for the first slide which you don't notice when the gate is open, and stringers have been set along the trail mentioning another slide with another date from earlier travelers. No other signs mention danger. The gate is open, and no barrier is in front of the slide, which is around a corner. Someone put up stringers that had been driven through in multiple places as a warning. The landslide is around a corner, so if you're not looking for it, you can get in trouble quickly, as there is no barrier set up. It is a great trail to this point. One backup spot close to the Landslide. Black Bear sign on this trail. Be safety-minded and carry Bear protection. Be mindful of the weather, as this is a rainforest, and rain and fog can create low visibility quickly.
