Trail Overview
Starting in the small village of Ejido Plan Nacional Agrario, this trail offers a mellow, scenic desert drive that highlights the quiet beauty of northern Baja. The trail winds through classic sandy terrain, dotted with tall Ocotillos and dense Creosote--giving off that iconic desert vibe from the moment you set out. The surface is mostly hard-packed sand, with the occasional washboard section adding a bit of texture to the ride. No 4WD is required, but a high-clearance vehicle is recommended for navigating a few uneven patches along the way. The trail loops around a massive rock hill that dominates the landscape, serving as a striking landmark and natural waypoint. As you climb slightly in elevation, the views open up to reveal the jagged Sierra San Felipe in the distance and the shimmering blue of the Sea of Cortez along the horizon--a perfect backdrop for a relaxed desert cruise.
