Trail Overview
This off-road trail begins along Highway 19, situated between La Paz and Todos Santos, and gently climbs into the stunning Baja mountains. The road starts off heavily corrugated, so it's a good idea to air down as soon as you leave the highway. As you rise into the mountains, you'll pass fields of El Cardon cacti, vibrant desert plants, and an array of local wildlife, including birds and ranch animals, which add to the region's rugged allure. One of the more unusual sights along the way is the sight of a deceased horse wedged between two trees, with an empty beer can in its mouth--an eerie yet unmistakably Baja oddity. As you continue, the trail offers several spots off the main path that are perfect for camping. After a series of rolling ascents and descents, you'll come across a prominent sign for Rancho El Ademado. Here, you can either turn left to access camping facilities or continue straight to a gate leading to more trails and a nearby nature reserve. For those seeking an extended adventure, the trail can be linked with other onX routes, ultimately leading you to the town of Todos Santos.
