This out and back trail takes you out to an old abandoned lighthouse and a long secluded beautiful beach. The mostly sandy trail can be bumpy and deep at times. The beach is long and full of beautiful sand. It can be deep so be careful not to get stuck. Be aware of private land as well as Military land nearby.

Difficulty

This trail is narrow with sharp branches and cacti along the path that can give your rig a Baja pinstripe. The trail can also be very deep and sandy in areas.

History

The abandoned lighthouse is called Punta Arena de la Rivera. It is an inactive, 12m (39ft), conical concrete tower with double gallery, formerly painted with black and white horizontal bands. There is also an abandoned 1-story masonry keeper's house onsite.
