Middle Playa 3

Trail Overview

Beginning at Middle Road, this lightly traveled trail ventures into the heart of the wild desert, where dense vegetation quickly closes in around you. While navigable by a Jeep, the route is better suited for side-by-sides or smaller rigs, as a few narrow stretches may require trimming branches to prevent significant paint damage--far beyond typical pinstriping. The trail itself poses a little technical challenge, with a soft layer of sand offering a smooth, comfortable ride. After a series of gentle turns, the path straightens out, guiding you toward the coast and ending near the mangroves. Animal tracks are abundant, so an early morning or late afternoon run may reward you with sightings of desert wildlife.

Difficulty

This trail is generally easy in dry conditions, with no major obstacles to navigate. However, sections of the route become quite narrow due to overgrown trees, and larger vehicles may need to trim some branches to pass without damage. While the trail isn't technically demanding, four-wheel drive is recommended due to the remote location and predominantly sandy terrain.
