From Highway 19, this off-road route takes you on a scenic dirt journey to Ejido Meliton. The final two miles into town on the Old Road Meliton trail, though marked in blue, represent a Level 1, 2WD-accessible section of an otherwise more challenging route. This portion is suitable for any vehicle. The adventure begins with a wide, smooth dirt road that feels almost like a highway, winding past expansive farms and vibrant rows of orange groves. As the trail narrows, you'll encounter a brief corrugated section, followed by patches of powdery sand. Beyond the last ranch, the path transitions into a serene desert landscape adorned with towering El Cardon cacti, darting roadrunners, and the occasional desert fox. The trail gently winds through small arroyos, concluding with an easy, straightforward stretch into town, offering an enjoyable experience for any 2WD vehicle.
