Trail Overview
This lightly traveled trail begins at a scenic campsite near the Los Inocentes Lighthouse Trail. Initially, it features 3 to 4 inches of sand, making it a 4WD-rated route; however, experienced drivers with properly aired-down tires can navigate it without engaging 4WD. The trail meanders through terrain that hints at its former life as a SCORE off-road racing route, with occasional whoops and bedded sections, but overall provides a smooth, comfortable ride. It crosses dry lakebeds that only collect water during high tides or after significant storms. The trail eventually reaches a fence, previously operable but now deliberately obstructed with debris and additional fence posts, forcing a 90-degree turn toward the sand dunes. These dunes lead to a stunning, remote beach. Although vehicle tracks suggest others have bypassed the blockage along the beach, respecting property boundaries is strongly recommended.

Difficulty
While 4WD is recommended, experienced drivers adept at reducing tire pressure for sand navigation may manage without engaging 4WD. Be aware that certain sections are prone to flooding during unusually high tides or after significant storms. If you encounter areas that appear muddy, it's prudent to inspect them on foot before proceeding cautiously.
