Trail Overview
This trail features a sand and gravel surface with some hard-packed sand and some soft sand, creating varied conditions. There is a 3-foot berm on each side defining the route clearly. The trail runs along a limited-use area where you must stay on designated trails only. The route crosses numerous small drainage washes, none of which are very deep, making them easy to navigate. This is a pretty fast-moving trail, allowing good speeds on the maintained surface. Various mountain ranges are viewable in the distance, providing scenic backdrops. The trail is lined with medium-sized desert brush, trees, and seasonal blooming wildflowers, adding vegetation and color. The Southern Pacific Railroad track runs parallel to this trail, carrying a multitude of freight materials, so you may see trains passing alongside. The trail starts at BLM 766, crosses BLM 619, and ends at BLM 757.
