Trail Overview

This trail starts just off Virginia Lakes Road, which is open seasonally from late May to mid-October as weather allows. The gravel, well-graded trail runs along Virginia Creek and crosses over it a few times throughout the journey. This trail is part of the East Lower Virginia Creek Campground, featuring many campsites with fire rings and a 14-day camping limit. The route passes through a beautiful pine forest, and at 1.4 miles in, there's a nice open meadow with views of the trees above, providing a scenic rest spot along the way. A Cal Fire free permit is required to have a fire in the fire pits. There are various pit toilets available for use. This is a no-fee campground.
