Trail Overview

This is a short and easy trail in the Interface Trail System that winds through the forest. Its east entrance starts on FS 5N41Y and it zig zags west for 1.2 miles. The beginning has some deeper ruts and troughed out sections, sometimes dug out a foot below the forest floor. There are a few embedded roots that create little drop-offs less than a foot tall. It crosses the 15EV111 ATV trail and continues to wind through another section of forest. It slaloms around the trees with big sweeping turns in a snake pattern. A few of the corners have more mild ruts, and a few steeper spots, but overall, it remains very easy the whole way. It's easy to follow and there aren't many rocks. The west end intersects with 15EV111 ATV trail.

Difficulty

This is an easier dirt bike trail because it has mild technical features such as some deeper ruts and small root drop offs, but stays pretty gradual and flowy the whole time. This would be ideal for newer riders looking to practice their skills in a low consequence environment. This is considered Moderate by the Forest Service.

Access Description

The Interface OHV Trail System is located in the Stanislaus National Forest near the town of Arnold, California. To get here, go north of Highway 4 towards the community of White Pines and White Pines Lake. Go past the White Pines day use area, and continue onto FS 7N08, which will take you directly to the staging area. This recreation area has ample parking, porta potties, and several primitive camp spots with picnic tables. There are more camp spots and staging areas along FS 5N52. The trails here are open from April 15 - December 15, but it gets very dry and dusty here in the summer, so spring and fall are the best times to visit.
