Trail Overview
This sandy gravel trail connects Bald Mountain Road to Forest Service Road 1S70. Winding gently through a newer-growth pine forest, the route provides a peaceful and shaded drive with occasional glimpses of the towering Eastern Sierra peaks peeking through the trees. Along the way, a couple of dispersed campsites offer opportunities for overnight stops, and the trail includes a few spur options such as FS2S127A for added exploration. The road is generally smooth, though drivers should watch out for a few unexpected whoops and slightly off-camber sections that may surprise less experienced drivers. A relaxing route with just enough texture to keep things interesting.

Difficulty
This is an easy trail with light technical features. Most of the trail is smooth and well-maintained, with a sandy gravel surface that poses little difficulty in dry conditions. The occasional whoops and off-camber spots require some attention, but they're mild enough for any high-clearance stock SUV or truck. No 4WD needed unless conditions are muddy or snow-covered. A great introductory trail for beginners or those looking for a scenic cruise with minimal obstacles.
