Trail Overview
This is an out-and-back, very scenic trail that follows an easy, mostly single-lane gravel road with very minor wash areas, but nothing of any concern. The route is well maintained and passes through scenic sections of the Chattahoochee National Forest before continuing into Tallulah Gorge State Park and ending at Lake Tugalo. Along the route, there is a sign indicating that four-wheel drive is recommended beyond a certain point, but most vehicles should be able to travel the road without difficulty. Several scenic overlooks of the lake can be found along the way, though pull-off areas are limited, so be mindful of other traffic when stopping. Cell phone service in the area can be sporadic or unavailable, so it is a good idea to plan ahead and bring any supplies you may need in case of an emergency.
