Graded Forest Service road above the CA-70 highway in Graeagle, California that accesses Bonta Ridge, Penman Saddle, and other points to the North in the Plumas National Forest. There is a great brewery - the Brewing Lair - just below this road on CA-70. This area is above 5,000 feet and this road is seasonally closed by snow.

gets too narrow at the top for a vehicle. I had to pack up almost 4 miles.

Dusty in certain areas, small bit of water erosion on trail in certain areas due to snow/water run off. Easy trail to get through. There is construction on nearby highway by Blairsden so had to back track a bit farther near Mohawk Vista to actually get onto trail. This trail report is only for NF23N33. I did not go onto NF23N05Y.
