Trail Overview
This is a very difficult trail up the backside of Greenhill Lake Mountain. This is the "Hard line" to take to the Greenhill Lake scenic overlook. It is primarily used as an ATV/OHV trail, however, it is open to all vehicles if you have the right skills and rig to do it. Although the trail is only half a kilometer (.3 Miles), you can expect a very steep (in some areas a 35-40 degree angle), narrow and twisty climb up a rutted-out rock garden with 2 ledges over 12 inches high and a couple of small boulders (15-20 inches in height) as well as a large boulder about 25 inches tall many loose rocks ranging from small pebbles to 8-15 inch diameter boulders to crawl over. Right at the top, there is a small mud puddle about 12 inches deep that almost always has water in it. This is not a trail for a novice or the faint of heart, and you should expect to get some scratched paint and maybe a dent or two along the way. ROLL-OVERS ARE LIKELY IF INEXPERIENCED. THERE ARE NO BYPASSES AND NO TURNAROUND SPOTS ON THIS TRAIL. Once you start, you have to go all the way.
