Trail Overview
Brace yourself for washouts and stunning views along this access road near a mine. There are a few small ditches and water puddles along the way but nothing to worry about. Straddle the deep washouts as you make your way up 1700 feet in elevation. This road takes you to the trailhead for a hike to the summit or an open camping spot with a clear view of the stars. Level campsites can be found scattered along the road that will give you an unforgettable sunrise view.

Difficulty
It starts as a wide gravel road with some larger rocks here and there, mostly packed down. The road eventually slims down and is washed out further up. Don't let a tire fall in the washouts! Some can be pretty deep but are easily maneuvered around. You'll find a few water puddles near the top but nothing deeper than 3 inches.
