Trail Overview

Klakish Main is a graded gravel road that winds through dense forest, gradually leading toward the remote and picturesque Klaskino Inlet. The route features a series of gentle climbs and descents as it rolls over forested hills, occasionally traveling along cliffside sections where drivers should exercise caution, particularly when descending or navigating tight curves. The trail is an active logging route, so be alert for logging trucks, especially during weekdays or working hours. Several rockslide-prone areas exist along the road, and it's not uncommon to encounter small rocks or debris scattered across the trail, which are manageable but worth slowing down for. As you descend closer to the inlet, the dense canopy begins to open, offering peaceful glimpses of water through the trees. The combination of elevation shifts, thick forest, and coastal views makes this a beautiful and remote-feeling drive, well worth the effort.

Difficulty

Although the road includes mild elevation changes and cliffside exposure, it remains well-graded and passable for most vehicles. Just be cautious of debris, truck traffic, and blind corners. Note: The trail connecting to MK Main is a very steep and rocky trail. Be aware that this next trail is much more challenging, especially for heavy motos.
