Trail Overview

This trail will take you to the base of some large mountains, offering beautiful scenery, overland camping opportunities, and the ability to hike further up the mountain once you get to the end of the 4x4 trail. Halfway up the trail, there is a snowmobile shelter with an outhouse.

Difficulty

The trail is easy with dirt as the surface type and becomes harder with rocks/loose rock as the surface type after you pass the snowmobile shelter. It's a single vehicle wide trail throughout the route and becomes narrow after the snowmobile shelter.

Access Description

From the south, your starting point will be at the Atlas Staging Area. Drive north on the Atlas Road until you hit trail marker 225. Once you see the orange trail marker, take a left onto 225 and proceed onto the trail. From the north, take the Dutch Creek Road from Highway 40 and proceed until the road turns into the Atlas Road and look for an orange trail marker labeled 225. Take a right onto 225 and proceed onto the trail.
