Trail Overview

Overstreet Creek climbs from just over 1,300 feet in elevation to 3,250 ft, where it meets the Blue Ridge Parkway. This four-mile-long route is mostly gravel, but some of the steep sections include larger rocks. The namesake creek parallels the road for most of the length, and several waterfalls are visible. Near the top, sweeping views of the Sedalia valley make this trail a great option for a winter ride when the leaves have fallen. Before intersecting with the Blue Ridge Parkway, a couple of small campsites are available.

Difficulty

It's not a totally maintained gravel road, but any all-wheel drive with a little clearance should be fine.

Went out on a rare snow day. Blue Ridge Parkway is closed during this type of weather, so once I made it to the top, I had to make my way back down in the snowy conditions which was a fun challenge for a beginner. For a 4x4, this trail should be no issue during regular weather
