Trail Overview
FS 6222 is a 7.5-mile out-and-back gravel road that branches off FS 62. The road is single-lane and well-maintained for its entire length, ending at a downed tree. Beyond this point, evidence suggests the road once continued, though it is now heavily overgrown and blocked by rocks. Despite posing little technical challenge, FS 6222 offers views into a canyon to the southeast, multiple dispersed camping opportunities, and access to Squaw Falls. FS 6222 is open year-round.

Difficulty
As a smooth gravel road, FS 6222 is suitable for 2WD and low-clearance vehicles. While the road is generally in good condition, maintenance is seasonal, and weather conditions such as rain or snow can significantly impact the difficulty. As with most trails in the area, bringing a chainsaw or equipment to clear fallen trees is recommended.
