Trail Overview
The Plum Lake trail is an unmaintained route accessed from Trappers Lake Trail, offering a scenic drive through forested terrain. The trail surface is mostly smooth, with some scattered rocks, but it is obstructed in several places by fallen trees--at least eight large ones block further passage beyond a certain point. Early on, the trail passes a small river and a clearing before heading deeper into the forest. Along the way, there are several open areas beside the wide trail that could serve as potential spots for dispersed camping, and downed timber is abundant for collecting firewood. One notable feature along the route is a clearing with a large exposed rock, which stands out as a unique natural formation in the area. Although the trail offers natural beauty and relative seclusion, it does not include any formal campsites or services. Trash disposal, water sources, and restrooms are not available, and cell coverage may be limited or nonexistent.
