Trail Overview

Gallo Peak spurs off of Top Tank Trail and goes south for 1.4 miles. It is generally a wide path through a dry and sparse pine forest, often covered in scattered loose rocks. It goes through a fence and traverses up a hill towards a view overlooking the mountains at a flat spot that could be used as a campsite. There were a couple of downed logs that were a foot tall that can probably be ridden over, but there is always potential for new log hazards in the forest. Overall, it's a scenic spur that adds some easy mileage and is fun to combine with Trail #5. This trail was unmarked and lacked a sign for the width designations, and thus looks like it gets inadvertently used by wider vehicles.
