Trail Overview

Gold Hill (FS 770) is a 5.6-mile, point-to-point trail that takes drivers from US Highway 95 up into the Gold Hill trail network. Gold Hill starts in rolling wheat fields and ends up in the hills at an intersection with Big Creek (FS 370). Coming from the west side, Gold Hill is a slow but steady climb that becomes steeper as it approaches the top. Gold Hill is open year-round to vehicles. There are some poached 4x4 trails in the area. Difficulty

Gold Hill is a well-maintained single-lane gravel road. While unchallenging in the late spring, summer, and fall, this area is known to get decent snowpack, often with sections of ice during winter. Conditions can be unpredictable during this time.

Access Description

Coming from the west via United States Highway 95, turn east onto East Freeze Road. Continue for 2.5 miles until reaching Crane Creek Road, then make the first left to begin on Gold Hill (FS 770).
