Trail Overview
Bald Ridge is a 13.5-mile out-and-back trail in the Shoshone National Forest. This trail gives you great views of Heart Mountain and McCullough Peaks to the east and Sunlight Basin to the west. As you drive across the mountain pastures, you will see a plethora of grazing Pronghorn, and there is always a chance of seeing a Bear. This trail is closed from 1 January - 30 April. This is bear country, so ensure food items are in a secure container.

Difficulty
The majority of this trail is rated 1 with loose rocks and shallow mud holes. The last portion after the 'Y' split, the trail becomes more difficult with mud holes, loose rocks under 12 inches in height, with short steep inclines.
