Trail Overview

Suiattle Road is a 12.7-mile out-and-back gravel road located 20 minutes northeast of Darrington off of SR530. From 530, the first 10 miles are paved before the trail starts. Be cautious with your speed in this section, as there are many difficult-to-spot potholes and road deformations that could damage tires or suspension parts. The trail surface is mostly hard-packed gravel and is well maintained, with some small sections of large loose rock and washboard. The trail is passable by passenger cars and can accommodate trailers, due to the multiple horse trails which start from Suiattle Road. This trail features many trailheads, campgrounds, and river access points along its length. The trail ends at Suiattle River Trail trailhead, with a large parking lot and bathroom.
