Trail Overview
Sadie Creek Loop is best suited for ATV and dirt bike riders looking for a narrow, overgrown route on the Olympic Peninsula, where tight double-track, frequent blowdowns, and slick coastal soils define the ride across a 14.2-mile loop. Beginning at Sadie Creek Campground off State Highway 112, the route follows Sadie Creek Trail to Lower Swanson and climbs toward High Point, gaining from roughly 200 to 930 feet. Difficulty is moderate but increases quickly in wet conditions, with persistent mud, ruts, and loose rock on short climbs. The surface is mostly dirt and gravel, but heavy brush and tight corridors make this best suited for smaller machines. From High Point, the loop runs through Blowdown Alley, then connects to PA S-1050 and PA S-1000 before continuing onto Lyre Trail, Susie Creek, and the Powerline corridor back to the campground. Expect off-camber sections, shallow water crossings, and clay-based soils that stay slick after rain, along with limited visibility and tight turns that keep speeds low. Logging roads intersect parts of the route, and conditions shift frequently due to storm damage and erosion. Optional connectors allow for shorter or longer variations, making this a flexible option among ATV trails near Port Angeles with consistently technical terrain.
