Trail Overview
This is a relatively easy trail that takes you beyond the Wild Horse Monument and into BLM land. Overall, this is a GREAT trail to learn the basics of off-roading in a fun and safe environment. The beginning of the trail undulates through a narrow desert canyon, with a few twists and turns. At about .8 miles in, you start to climb through sometimes deep sand. Once at the top, the trail eventually dead-ends at private farmland. The top has a gorgeous view of the Columbia River gorge and makes a nice place for lunch. There are a few offshoots from the main trail that can be explored. This area gets very hot in the summer, so bring plenty of water.
