Trail Overview
Moon Canyon Road takes you from the junction with the very well-maintained FS7800, through Moon Canyon, then up to and along a ridgeline with spectacular views, and access to several other roads. This road is heavily rutted for much of its length and has sections where it is a shelf road. There is a moderate climbing section on very loose dirt, with deep ruts. Mud is going to be a major factor when it is wet out, but even when dry, high clearance is required. The road is primarily about 1.5 vehicles wide with turnouts. No cell service, and very few camping opportunities.
