Trail Overview
Little Caribou Road is a 3.3-mile out-and-back trail branching off Colockum Road and terminating at a junction with a closed road. The trail features sections of significant road damage due to runoff; what was once a smooth gravel road is now rutted with partially washed-away sections. Despite these challenges, the trail rewards visitors with views looking southwest into Kittitas Valley and numerous dispersed campsites along the route. This trail is managed by the Washington Department of Natural Resources and the Department of Fish and Wildlife. A Washington State Discover Pass is required for access. Motorized vehicle use is restricted to roads marked with green dots only, as per management regulations. Little Caribou Road is accessible year-round.

Difficulty
With ruts and partially washed-out sections, 2WD vehicles will struggle when the trail is wet. Low-clearance vehicles may have difficulty crossing the small washouts and ruts. Weather conditions such as snow and rain can significantly affect trail difficulty. A chainsaw or other equipment for clearing windfall is highly recommended.
