Trail Overview
Irene Creek/FS 1550 is a tight, moderately technical, unmaintained, out-and-back spur trail off Cascade River Road. The road surface is mostly loose gravel with a slick grass middle. There are several short but deep ruts and some shallow but large puddles. There is a lot of brush encroachment on the road; any rig wider than a large quad will be hitting bushes. Approximately 3 miles up the trail, there is a tree down which will limit access to taller rigs (see picture). There is another tree down blocking the last 0.75 miles of the trail to anything but foot traffic. Beyond this tree, the trail is extremely brushy, with 3-foot-tall trees growing in the middle of the trail.

Difficulty
This is a moderately difficult trail that is passable to capable SUVs. The difficulty of this trail lies in the loose gravel, deep ruts, and heavy brush encountered along the trail. There is a log down above the trail approximately 3 miles in that will prevent taller rigs from continuing. There are few spots wide enough to turn a full-size rig around.
