Trail Overview
This short trail leads to an interesting historical mining site, the Kettle River Mine. The main adits are closed but old historical buildings and artifacts remain, including an 1800s steam engine. The 1.6-mile trail is wide enough for one vehicle with turnout areas to pass and several steep, rutted, grades. A high-clearance 4x4 vehicle is required to navigate two sections of the trail. Expect snow, mud, and ice during winter months, and be prepared to clear deadfall trees and brush.
