Trail Overview
This trail was carved into the upper reaches of Hawkins Mountain by miners looking for gold, silver, and chromium back at the turn of the century. If you keep an eye out, you can still see some tailings along the way, which are remnants of those mining days! While the trail is short, it does have a steep incline, making it perfect for adventurous spirits. You'll be rewarded with some truly breathtaking views of the surrounding mountains. On a clear day, you can even spot the wind turbines along I-90 from 60 miles away! The path twists and turns with some challenging climbs, so it's not for the faint of heart. In the spring, the high mountain meadows come alive with vibrant flowers, making the journey even more special. Remember to stay on the trail and help protect those beautiful meadows!
