Trail Overview

Located in the Amhurst county portion of the George Washington National Forest this is easy gravel trail has a lot to offer. Reservoir road runs parallel to the Pedlar river which offers great trout fishing opportunities and is stocked during the VA trout season (Oct.1 - Apr 15). This particular track takes you halfway down Reservoir Rd from north to south then a short stent down Shady Mountain road to Litte Irish Creek Rd. There is a small waterfall and a nice swimming hole near the intersection of Shady Mountain road and Litte Irish Creek Rd. Once on Little Irish Creek Rd, there is a number of dispersed camping spots that are right on the creek. Aside from fishing, this route crosses the Appalachian Trail and hunting is also permitted in the GWNF.

Difficulty

This is a well-maintained gravel forest road. There are a few areas that will washout slightly and expose some larger rock making the road a little rough.
