Trail Overview
This route travels across open desert flats before winding through scattered juniper and sagebrush toward the edge of the dramatic Sid's Mountain Wilderness. The trail is primarily a narrow dirt two-track with sections of loose sand, embedded rock, and occasional uneven surfaces that keep drivers paying attention without becoming overly technical. Wide-open views stretch in every direction, with distant mesas and rolling high desert terrain surrounding the route. As you continue, the trail becomes more scenic near the canyon rim, where red rock walls and deep cutouts in the landscape suddenly appear. This is a rewarding scenic drive that combines easy exploration, desert scenery, and impressive overlooks in the heart of the San Rafael Swell.

Difficulty
This trail is best described as an easy scenic route suitable for most high-clearance AWD and 4WD vehicles in dry conditions. The terrain consists mainly of dirt two-track with light sand, small embedded rocks, shallow ruts, and minor uneven sections. There are no major obstacles, ledges, or technical climbs shown. After rain, mud or soft spots could quickly raise the difficulty. Stock SUVs and trucks should have no issue when conditions are favorable.
