Trail Overview
West Fork Duchesne, also known as "The Hollows" due to the many hollows this route passes through, is a diverse route encompassing sections of rock, dirt, gravel, some sand, and mud. The wildlife in this area is also diverse. Be on the lookout for moose, deer, badger, beaver, and a variety of birds, including heron. There are plenty of excellent dispersed camp sites along the way, as this road parallels the West Fork Duchesne River. About halfway is an old cabin and corral on the side of the road in pretty bad condition, but interesting to look at. On the east end of the trail is a small lake with parking. While this road may be open in spring, be very careful about trying to access this trail via the west side due to deep snow at the higher elevations.

Difficulty
The majority of this road is quite easy. However, there are some sections with ruts, loose rock, mud holes, and other obstacles over 12 inches. But during the spring with snow run off, there can be deeper water crossings over a foot deep. For the most part, except for a short section on the east end of the trail, only one car can pass at a time.
