Trail Overview
This spur trail off of Gold Gulch to Little Pork Lake takes you across the top of these mountains in the Fishlake National Forest to an overlook spot of the Piute Reservoir down below. You have some steep climbs that take you to an elevation of almost 9200 feet, high above the Little Pork Lake, and give you an excellent view of the mountains down south towards Junction and Piute County down to the east. To the west, in mid-June, the snow-capped peaks include Lake Peak (11217 feet) and Mount Hawley (11962 feet). The flowering bushes are aromatic, and the wildflowers in full bloom are beautiful. This is an easy trail in the summer and fall. Too early in the spring, or after a summer rain, it will be muddy in areas, and there are places where the water will be running down the trail causing erosion. Don't forget, to off-road in UT you need to have the online education course certificate as well as the OHV sticker.

Difficulty
This high-mountain trail is steep but not too difficult when it's dry. If it's muddy, there will be areas of the trail with running water, and some erosion will be a factor.
